Hi - My name is Maria Borghoff (MA, LPCC, E-CYT).

I am a therapist, somatic artist, and death doula devoted to supporting people through the many thresholds of life since 2011.

My work is grounded in liberation psychology, and my approach to counseling is holistic, adaptive, transparent, and collaborative. I serve people who are healing from trauma, people who are dying, and people who are seeking more fulfilling relationships in life. I work with clients who are looking for a more personal and less clinical perspective and are ready to access the capacity for healing and transformation that is already within.

I hold a BFA in Studio Art and MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I have gratefully worked in a range of settings including community mental health, schools, museums, intimate partner violence shelters, residential programs, hospice, psychiatric rehabilitation, corporate offices, and in-home therapy.

Using evidence-based practices specific to my client’s individual needs and goals, I combine mindfulness, somatic and expressive arts therapy, interpersonal and EMDR trauma therapy, systems-centered, acceptance and commitment, nature-based healing, psychedelic integration, and spiritually-focused care. Weaving modern neuroscience with indigenous earth wisdom, I provide a brave space for all people to heal, grow, and transform.
